This French 18ct Art Nouveau clover leaf Repousse locket is in wonderful condition and such a classic piece. Circa 1900.

The country of origin is more than likely Belgian as this unique style and subject matter can be traced to production in this area. 

The Style "Art Nouveau" which is French for New Style, is a movement and style of Art that peaked in popularity around the turn of the 20th century (1890-1905)

Drawing on motifs from nature the designs where more organic and flowing to reflect this. 

The headband on the woman is set with a single ruby to the star and surrounded by diamond Senailles. a type of rose cut diamond.

There's an embossed star just above her head and the leaves have fine details.

Condition: very good with both photo holders inside. Some light marks to the back commensurate with age.

Height: 2.9cm excluding the ring.

Note: The locket opens from the top and closes with a very firm click.
